This project was assigned by Mrs. Wilson and the objective was to create a series of photos under a few different topics. The topics are conceptual, detail, frame within a frame, landscape. blurred movement, satire, shadows, movement, face, and hands. Next, we edited our photos in both Photoshop and Lightroom. Here is my series:
Conceptual
photoshop:
1) placed the sad photo below the happy photo
2) selected the face of the sad photo
3)created a mask of the other photo (sad)
4) smoothed out the lines and made sure the photos lined up
5) added some highlights to the tear to make it more noticeable
lightroom:
1) chose a color filter that was a dark grey tint
2) brought the exposure down
3) brought the darks up and the highlights down
4) brought the whites up
Detail
photoshop:
1) darkened the photo
2) painted in highlights with the paintbrush onto the water droplets
3) lightened the yellow aspects of the photos so the yellow stood out more
lightroom:
1) brought up the clarity
2) brought up the sharpness for more detail
3) heightened the yellows (again)
4) brought up the whites
5) lowered the whites
Frame Within A Frame
photoshop:
1) lightened the greens in the photo
2) filled in the lighter spots in the black area to create a uniform black background using the patch tool and the paintbrush
3) brought down the exposure
lightroom:
1) brought the exposure down since the photo was overexposed
2) used the geometry tool to straighten the photo so it wasn't crooked
3) cropped it so the board was out of the frame
4) brought down the blacks
5) brought up the whites
Landscape
photoshop:
1) used the curves and color balance to bring up the contrast
2) brought down the exposure
3) photoshopped out the stain on the roof using the spot healing tool and the patch tool
lightroom:
1) used the geometry tool to to straighten out the picture so it didn't look tilted upwards
2) lightened the purples and darkened the pinks/reds
Blurred Movement
photoshop:
1) placed the three photos on top of the original
2) created masks of each running figure
3) used the history tool to get rid of the overlap
3) edited out the projector and the stains on the floor
lightroom:
1) brought down the exposure ( a very little amount)
Satire
photoshop:
1) smoothed the wrinkles in the shirt using the patch tool and the spot healing tool
2) photoshopped the stray hair out using the spot healing tool
lightroom:
1) put highlights on her collarbone using the paintbrush and highlighting tool
2) highlighted the money to make it stand out more and put emphasis on the bills
Shadows
photoshop:
1)got rid of the tree branch shadow using the patch tool
2) got rid of the the blue trash can using the patch tool and the spot healing brush
3) got rid of the yellow discoloring on the side walk using the patch tool
4) used the spot healing tool to make the shadow more straight and sharp
5) used the paintbrush to make the darkness uniform at the edge of the shadow
6) used the blur tool so it didn't look edited and fake
lightroom
1) brought down the exposure
2) heightened the greens so the walls and trees popped
3) brought up the whites
Movement
photoshop:
1) brought the exposure down
2) used the paintbrush to highlight the bubbles
3) used the curves to darken the green background
lightroom:
1) pin-pointed each bubble and added clarity and sharpness
2) pin-pointed each bubble again to add more highlights so you could see the colors
3) darkened the greens even more
4) brought up the whites
Face
photoshop:
1) highlighted the curls by using the dropper tool and selecting the spots where the sun hit the best
2) used that color to pain highlights onto the rest of the hair and make the golden accents stronger
3) used the paint brush tool (and dropper) to select a less red part of his face and then painted over the redness so the main focus was his hair
4) covered a few blemishes on his face with the spot healing tool
lightroom:
1) brought down the exposure
2)cropped his shoulders out
3) brought down the blacks
4) brought the whites up
Hands
photoshop:
1) made the background one uniform shade of black by using the dropper tool and painting the background all one darker shade of black
2) used spot healing tool to get rid of some imperfections on the fingernails and some on the skin
lightroom:
1) brought down the exposure
2) brought up the whites
3) lowered the blacks for more contrast
